The SD3 license reportedly limits use and distribution, hindering collaboration and open access within the open-source AI community. This contradicts the core principles of open-source development, which emphasize broad adoption and innovation.

StabilityAI's SD3 licensing restricts use and distribution, conflicting with Hugging Face's commitment to open-source development and fostering a collaborative AI community.

It became a Zero Sum Game the moment Sam Altman decided to ruin it for everyone.

Stability AI staff wants food on the table as well. Without revenue, there's no company, and thus no model. It's actually pretty amazing that they're spending millions on building these models and all we have to do is pay $20/month to use it for anything beyond research/personal use. It's win-win for everyone.

"all you have to do"

for now.
Everytime someone has said this in tech, the customer has suffered. All you have to do is connect to the internet to make sure your smart toaster works, all you have to do is keep your xbox online so we know you're not a filthy pirate. All you have to do, is read the (excruciatingly long) terms and services.

Bad precendent.
