Usage limitations for a workshop

Hi,

I’m planning to host a hands-on workshop with about 30 participants, all in the same room, where we’ll explore HuggingChat’s assistants functionality. Each participant will create their own HF account and sign in to use HuggingChat during the session.
I wanted to clarify potential limitations that could arise:

  • Number of Messages: Is there a cap on the number of messages a single signed-in user can send in a session or within a specific time frame?
  • IP-Based Restrictions: Could multiple participants accessing HuggingChat from the same IP (e.g., the venue’s shared Wi-Fi) trigger any limitations or issues?

Are there any other limitations I should consider?
Thanks in advance !

Hi! Regarding message caps, the user can send around 500 messages per conversation, but you can always create new conversations.

We also do IP-based rate limiting, the limit varies depending on load, but if your users don't all send messages at the same time, 30 participants should be ok! Around one message per minute on average should work, as a rough estimate.
